How do other methods of hair restoration compare?

Hair restoration surgery is the only permanent solution for hair loss from male pattern baldness, which involves living natural hair growth.

• Effective medical treatments are available in the form of a pill (finasteride) and a lotion (minoxidil). However, they require life-long treatment to maintain their effects.
• Cosmetic enhancers include coloured creams, sprays and powders that help camouflage thinning areas when applied. These do not treat the hair loss problem.
• Hairpieces and wigs cover bald areas of the scalp. But these are obviously neither natural nor permanent solutions.
